Why don't you have any practices listed for sale on your website?

That's easy! We actually SELL the practices that we list for sale. Have you noticed that the other guys don't show the date of the original listing? Why are the practices still listed for sale on other websites? What's wrong with the practice for sale? What's wrong with the buyers? Successful practice transitions has nothing to do with the number of practices listed and the number of buyers in the database. Reasor Professional Dental Services carefully matches sellers with buyers so that practices are sold quickly, with a minimum of the hassle or haggle treatment you'll find with other brokers.

Should I buy an existing practice or start a practice from scratch?

The answer to that question will have a major impact on your entire career.

The supply companies will advise you that a practice start-up is best, but of course they want to sell you several operatories of new equipment.

The source of cash flow for a dental practice is obtaining a solid patient base, and you will almost always have more income when you buy a practice than when you start a new practice. A start-up practice has no patients versus an acquired practice which has a built in patient base. In addition, you also inherit an experienced staff and a working, functional facility.

In markets where neighborhoods are springing up fast, a new practice can be profitable in an acceptably short time. The number of markets where that is true, however, is small, and it is definitely not the case in the Pacific Northwest.

When is the right time to consider buying a practice?

Only you can answer that question of the right time to buy. We think you should start looking when you want control of your own patients, staff, and fees. You must want to be a practice owner, not just a practicing dentist. You must want to be in the driver's seat, steering your practice in the direction you want it to go. If you are ready, you will find that the numerous rewards and advantages that come with owning your own practice greatly offset the added responsibilities.

Which is the right practice for me?

Consideration of location, size and price are obvious. Perhaps less obvious, the right practice is one where your philosophy of dental practices are compatible with those of the selling dentist. You will find this to be a critical key to a smooth and successful practice transition.

What is the first step if I think I might want to buy a dental practice?

The first step is to fill out the Confidential Buyer Interview Form on this website, each doctors situation is unique. This gives us some insight into you and the timeline you envision for buying a practice.

You interview form will go directly to Dr. Buck Reasor, President of Reasor Professional Dental Services. He will review the information and contact you by phone opening a dialogue about your current status, your immediate plans and your long range goals. This is done with no obligation.

You can call Dr. Reasor directly at (503) 680-4366. He is happy to answer any questions you have concerning when, why and how to buy a practice.

What kind of financing is available?

Economic times have been challenging, but there are still options, finance companies, banks, and SBA loans are available to qualified buyers. Interest rates are at historic lows. Banks will loan money to businesses that show a strong earnings history on their tax returns.

We maintain working relationships with every major banking and financial institution involved in financing dental practice acquisitions. Our relationships with the decision makers in these institutions allow us the broadest access to methods of funding your purchase. We have no financial ties with any of our lenders; the only thing we receive from them is excellent service.

Why do I need a dental practice broker?

The purchase of a dental practice is a complex process. They do not teach buying your practice in dental school, nor is it something you learn while you are working in a large practice that belongs to someone else.

Our job as your Broker is to learn who you are, what you want, and what you can afford. We find practices that will be a good fit for your circumstance and your goals. We will negotiate the terms of the sale and manage the myriad details involved providing a buffer for the emotional highs and lows. Having someone familiar with the nuances of selling and buying a dental practice will prove an invaluable asset to you.

What is the advantage to working with Reasor Professional Dental Services as opposed to other dental brokerage firms?

Buck Reasor practiced General Denstitry for 28 years before successfully selling his own practice. Dr. Reason will offer his understanding of the wants and needs of both the seller and the buyer in dentistry across the region. As a small firm, Reasor Professional Dental Services can give each client the individual attention that is difficult to find in large businesses. You will not fall between the cracks at Reasor Professional Dental Services. We maintain your confidentiality and help you manage the intricacies of the sale. Our consultation expertise can help you achieve a smooth practice transition for you, the seller, the staff and the patients.

Our goal is always to obtain the best deal for each client. Our service, dedication and drive are your guarantee that if you are prepared to buy a practice, we are ready to help you make it happen.
